On November 11th, the Confucius Institute of Ljubljana Universityin Slovenia celebrated China Day themed Get to Know China. Thecelebration venue was decorated with lanterns, colored ribbons andChinese national flags. Yang Jianzhong, counselor of ChineseEmbassy in Slovenia and some of the students from LjubljanaUniversity attended the celebration.
During the celebration, students from different schools ofLjubljana University and residents from the neighboring communitiesenjoyed performances with Chinese characteristics such as Chinesefolksongs, calligraphy, kung fu, and tea arts. Local studentsmajoring Chinese Studies and teachers from the Confucius Instituterecited Chinese classical poems. Their excellent performance wereapplauded by the audiences.
After the performances, the students experienced traditionalChinese culture by taking part in activities such as tea tasting,Chinese calligraphy and making dumplings.
On the same day, the Confucius Institute started the first ChineseFilm Week and played five contemporary Chinese movies for thestudents of Ljubljana University.
