On the afternoon of 6 September 2013, the First CommencementCeremony of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zagrebestablished in partnership with SUIBE was held the Assembly Hall ofthe Rectorate’s Office of the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Over60 graduates attended the ceremony, together with Mr. WangXiusheng, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Croatia,Professor Bojan Baletić, Vice Rector of the University of Zagreb,and the faculty of the Confucius Institute.
In his Commencement address, Counselor Wang congratulated on theoutstanding achievements made by the Confucius Institute since itsestablishment one year before, and encouraged the graduates tocontinue to learn more about the Chinese language and the Chineseculture, thus better serving as a bridge in the exchanges betweenChina and Croatia. Mr. Krešimir Jurak, Director of the CroatianSide of the Confucius Institute, also spoke to the graduates aboutthe importance of further promoting friendship between the peoplesof the two countries.
Since the founding of the Confucius Institute, 110 students havecompleted their education and received their diplomas.
