The 2022 China Import Food Summit kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center on the afternoon of November 7th. SUIBE was invited to attend the summit and released research results of China’s Trade Index of Imported Food. Yu Xuemei, vice president of SUIBE, attended the summit and delivered a speech. Liu Yonghui, director of the Office of Discipline Affairs, Xia Wei, deputy director of General Office of SUIBE, and leaders and representatives of faculty and students of the School of Statistics and Information attended the event.
Yu Xuemei, on behalf of SUIBE, expressed her warm congratulations on the convening of the summit and extended heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Commerce of China, the General Administration of Customs, the municipal government and all sectors of society for their full support for the development of SUIBE. She pointed out that SUIBE faculty and students provided all-round services to the China International Import Expo (CIIE). SUIBE was invited by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Food stuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products to participate in the 2022 China Import Food Summit and develop the China’s Trade Index of Import Food with the support of the chamber. She added that SUBIE would continue to expand domestic and international cooperation, and take the initiatives to leverage its own advantages so as to make greater contributions to promoting China’s opening-up and building an open world economy.
Professor Liu Yonghui delivered a report on the development of the China’s Trade Index of Import Food on behalf of SUIBE’s trade index research and development team. The report measured the development of China’s trade of imported food over the past decade from the perspectives of its growth, competitiveness, and complementarity.
